log
Log a step. Note what you did, found and do next on your task, up to 4,000 characters.
Where it is
Always listed: call it by its name.
Does it need a yes?
Runs at once, no yes card: it changes only the office's own working state, and nothing reaches anyone. Here: a line on the task's own log.
Inputs
| Input | Type | Needed | About |
|---|---|---|---|
number | integer | yes | The task number, e.g. 12. · 1 or more |
note | string | yes | |
title | string | no | A better title for your task (the note says why). · 1 to 200 characters |
due_on | string or "" | no | The day it is due, e.g. 2026-10-24. "" takes the date off. |
spend | object | no | A paid call you made for this task. Media library items use record_spend instead; the same request_id twice is harmless. |
spend.usd | number | yes | 0 to 100 |
spend.provider | "fal" | "elevenlabs" | "openai" | "anthropic" | "google" | "other" | yes | |
spend.what | string | yes | 1 to 200 characters |
spend.request_id | string | yes | The provider's id for the call. · format `^[A-Za-z0-9][A-Za-z0-9._:/-]{0,199}$` |
review | object | no | A second look's verdict on another task. Your own number is the Second look task you hold; the same verdict again changes nothing. |
review.task | integer | yes | The task you checked (not your own). · 1 or more |
review.verdict | "pass" | "fail" | yes | |
ask | boolean | no | true: the note is one question for the owner; stop until they answer. |
run_id | string | yes | The run_id from start. Pass it on every call: it keeps your task held. · 1 to 100 characters |

invalid: The input isn't right. The sentence names the field and the fix; nothing was done. Fix it and call again.not_found: No such thing in this company (a task, file, person, record). Check the number or name, or list first.not_allowed: Not without another step: the owner's yes, your own task held with pick_up, or a setting the owner turns on. The sentence says which.taken: Someone else holds it (another AI on that task). Pick another task.stale: It changed since you read it. Read it again and use the new version.failed: On our side or a service's, never your input. Try again in a minute; if it keeps failing, call report_problem.
