Use Company of One from Claude Code
Set it up in one line
Claude Code runs on your own computer. It works in your office through the same address and the same yes as your AI app, and it can also use the files on your computer.
- Open Connect your AI in your office. Under Other ways, copy the Claude Code line: it already has your address in it.
- Paste it in a terminal and press Enter. It starts with
claude mcp add --transport http co1, then comes your address, and it ends with a short label that tells us it is Claude Code. Paste the whole line. - Start it and type
/mcp. Choose co1, then Authenticate. Your browser opens: sign in with the code we email you and press Allow. - Say "Start my Company of One." It greets you and picks up where your office is.
You sign in once. It renews this by itself. After 14 days without use, or when you disconnect it in your office, it asks you to sign in again.
What it adds
- Your own files: it reads a folder on your computer, such as your old website, your notes or a price list, and brings what matters into your office.
- Many pictures at once: point it at a folder of photos and it puts them all in your media library, ready for your site.
- Website folders: it builds a whole site in a folder, or moves your old one in, and shows you the private preview.
- Everything else stays the same: nothing goes out, costs money or goes live without your yes.
Good first asks
- "Move my old website from this folder into Company of One."
- "Put the photos in my Studio folder into my media library."
- "Check my week and tell me what needs me."
If it stops working
- Type
claude mcp listin a terminal. co1 should say Connected. If it says it needs authentication, type/mcp, choose co1 and Authenticate. - Still stuck? Remove it with
claude mcp remove co1and add it again. Your work is kept: it lives in your office, not in the chat.
