Payments
Your customers pay you through Stripe, by card, or by iDEAL when they pay in euros (most Dutch buyers do). An iDEAL order counts once the bank says yes, just like a card. The money goes into your own Stripe account and on to your bank. We never hold it.
Connect Stripe
Only you can do this step, because Stripe checks who you are and your bank account. 1. Open your set-up page in the office and press Connect Stripe on the Stripe card. 2. Stripe's own form asks who you are and where to send your money. It takes about 10 minutes, and you can stop and carry on later from the same button. 3. Test payments work at once. Real payments start once Stripe has checked your form.
Your AI never asks for a password or a card number, and never fills in Stripe's form for you. Stripe keeps its fee from each payment and pays the rest to your bank.
Test first, then live
Everything starts in test mode, where nothing is real. You pay a test link with one of Stripe's test cards and see it arrive in Money. Going live is your yes.
Payment links
Your AI makes a payment link for an offer with payment_link, using the offer's exact name and price from your offers.
- A link is in test mode until payments are live. A live link works only once payments are live and Stripe has checked your account.
- A link for an invoice asks at most the invoice's total, in its currency, and only while the invoice is still open.
Invoices and quotes
- Your AI drafts invoices and quotes for your yes. Each action asks for its own fields, and refuses ones it doesn't use.
- Only a draft can be changed or sent.
- A quote is valid for at most a year.
- Marking an invoice as paid is yours, never the AI's.
VAT
Stripe works out the VAT for you, at checkout, on offer links and on invoices. You never type a rate.
- Your prices include VAT. The buyer sees the price they pay.
- A business buyer can give their VAT number. If it qualifies, they get the reverse charge and pay no VAT.
- A quote needs the buyer's country (and their postal code in the US or Canada). A business can add its VAT number. The VAT is on the quote from the start.
- You set your head office and your tax code once, in Stripe's form when you connect Stripe.
- If the VAT can't be worked out, the checkout stops instead of charging the wrong amount.
Memberships
A membership is a plan people join on Stripe's own page, paid every month or year. Stripe takes the card each period, tries again when a payment fails and sends the receipts. Your office opens the course or member area while they pay and closes it when they stop. Members change their card, see invoices and cancel on Stripe's own page. You see members, monthly income and who is behind on the Money page.
Fees and ways to pay
- We take no commission and no cut of your sales. Stripe keeps its own fee from each payment, as Stripe's price list for your country says.
- Buyers pay by card. Which other ways show at checkout follows your Stripe account. iDEAL isn't promised yet.
A price in your offers, and the Buy button
- Typing a price in your offers changes the words only. It doesn't make a Buy button by itself.
- Ask your AI to sell it: it makes the product in Stripe, puts the Buy button on your page, and each step waits for your yes.
- The Offer page is a sign-up page, for "tell me when it opens". It has no checkout.
- When someone pays, they are added to your people, and they get an order email. Their stage doesn't change to Client by itself.
Refunds and the 14-day right to withdraw
- Money, Payments: each paid payment has a Refund button. Your AI asks whether it is all of it or a part, and the money goes back to the buyer's card after your yes. A full refund of a class or a call cancels that booking.
- For a course or other digital content, the buyer ticks two boxes at checkout: they want access now, and they lose their right to withdraw once access starts.
- For other orders, the buyer can withdraw in 14 days with the "Withdraw from contract here" button. You then get a task to pay them back within 14 days, and the refund still waits for your yes.
Your company details and your invoices
- Settings, Company details is one text box, one detail per line, like "VAT number: FR12345678901". Edit, change it, Save.
- The lines it reads: Legal name, Address, VAT number, Chamber of commerce number, IBAN, Account holder, BIC, Reply and invoice email, Payment terms and Payment link.
- Your registration number (SIRET, KvK, Handelsregister) goes on the Chamber of commerce number line. Your TVA, BTW or USt number goes on the VAT number line.
- The IBAN is only for invoices that are paid by bank transfer. Leave it out if your buyers pay online.
- Your invoices use these lines, with a number in order and the VAT on its own line. The footer of an email to many people needs your Address.
- Extra words your country asks for on an invoice aren't added by themselves: ask your AI to put them in the invoice's notes.
- A deposit: your AI makes a payment link for part of the invoice. The invoice turns paid when the parts reach its total.
